How easy is your domain name to remember?
When your website is mentioned, it is typically a small space at the end of a brochure, a single line in a magazine article, or a few words on screen for a few seconds. You might only have a few seconds, to make an impression, so it’s important to make every character count!

Check out the article here: 5 Tips To Choose The Right Domain.
1. Choose 4-5 Best keywords: When you start your domain search, then first of all select 4-5 best keywords which suits your blogging niche or best suited to business. Once you select the best keywords list, start pairing them and search for availability. For example, I want to sale cell phones online then what will be the best keywords? Best cell phones, buy cell phones, phone, store, etc. (these are just an example), then we try to pair them to make it a domain. Such as we can pair “best”, “phone” and “store” to make a domain “bestphonestore.com”. Or we can pair “phone” and “store” to make “Phonestore.com”.
2.Try To Keep It Short: Try to keep the domain name as short as possible. However in my example bestphonestore.com is a bit longer but please try to keep it shorter. It may be a bit longer if it contains right keyword. Shorter domain names are very SEO friendly. Short domains are easy to remember also. This type of of domains get lots of direct visitors because it can be remembered easily by the users.
3. Don’t Put Hyphens: They are lost of guys here who use hyphenated domains for example “best-phone-store.com”. This is usually done by the people who are willing to copy other’s site name. lets understand with an example, suppose you have a famous site “wintechgeek.com”(say) then there might be few black hats will create a domain as “win-tech-geek.com”. Actually they think that they will get the advantage of this but they are absolutely wrong. Original remains always original. Also hyphens in url is very annoying. Even you are not copying other then also don’t use hyphens in the domain.
4. Don’t go for misspelled Domains: There are so many sites which misspell in the domain names. Do avoid misspelling. Lets understand with an example:- If a guy is searching for a domain such as “techtricks.com” which is not available then what will he do? He will probably ad an extra “s” and make it “techtrickss.com” which can be available.
My suggestion is to strictly avoid this. Choose only unique domains.
5. Choose only .com domains: Always choose .com as it’s the best. If you want branding and name-recognition then you can use any but if you want to have a successful blog then .com is the right choice.
