What is a store?
Do you sell stuff online or in a bricks-and-mortar location? If so, you have a store! A store is a single spot where inventory is made available to customers. If you have an online store (say a Shopify, Magento, or other online store), then you have at least one store. If you have two online storefronts, each of which makes inventory available to customers, then you have two stores — whether or not they have their own unique pools of inventory or share the same inventory pool. More on this topic of shared vs. allocated pools of inventory in the next FAQ.
Every store needs to be configured in the Bizelo eRetail IPS system. You can configure your stores by clicking on the “Settings” tab then choosing “Stores” from the options on the right side. Below is a picture of what a possible Store configuration could look like:
In the above example, we can see that we have a total of four stores. Three stores share their inventory with the Shopify store and the Retail store maintains its own pool of inventory. In addition, we can see that we have two stores configured as Shopify stores, another store configured as a Magento store, and a final store that is not at all an ecommerce store.
In the next FAQ, we discuss how to deal with inventory pools allocated to your various stores.
