Is Your Small Business Doomed for Failure?
Hello Bizelo blog readers, and happy new year if you’re celebrating the Jewish holidays. I’m Evan, and I’m the community manager here at Bizelo in case we haven’t met. Throughout this past year we’ve been incredibly busy. Time has evaporated! Little did I know that I would be working at Bizelo to solve the very problem that caused so much stress and agony.
This time last year, I was sitting in my office with about 30 toner cartridges stacked to the ceiling. Our company goal was to bring value added service to our customers which was difficult to explain to our customers at times. We would set up an online store where our customers could go and shop, and we would offer great service, great prices. Our focus was on developing good relationships with my customers and identify ways to improve products and services to give current customers more bang for their buck and attract new clients.
Unfortunately, we quickly ran into a couple major roadblocks. First, we couldn’t find simple and affordable software to manage our inventory, accounting, accounting sync and supply management. We were quoted well over $2,000 for software that was designed for large businesses. Delivery time was also a huge problem for us. We were selling a product that our customer needed yesterday, so we had to make sure we got the product delivered asap.
This was a huge issue! We would get a call for an emergency order at 4:55pm. No problem, all I had to do was make a quick last minute phone call right? We all know that there is such thing as simple when it comes to small business! Of course our main supplier is out of stock and our only option is to ship the cartridges out from their other warehouse with 3 day shipping. A lack of a high quality service or product can really hurt your marketing and sales!
